Yeah, I know. It's been awhile...

So my Mother informs me every once in a while that I still haven't updated my blog since June of last year. I figure since I now found my camera charger I can start blogging again. See the camera and blogging go hand in hand in my book.

So, since last June we have moved out of the home we were renting, moved in downstairs of Braydons parents house, built a house while there, and now have officially moved into our home as of the end of January. What a whirlwind since we decided to general the house ourselves...or I should say I generaled the house.(Ok so Brayd did help out some but I had to always be the bad guy). I am loving my house more and more everyday. TJMaxx has been pretty much the only store I have been buying things from to decorate my house. We really have no home decor stores here. I was so excited to drive up to IKEA this weekend just to get a change of scenery/ideas. I wish we had an IKEA here but that will NEVER happen :(. We are getting our landscaping started this week! I am super excited! Once the front yard goes in I will post some pics.

Moving on, Brooklyn is really enjoying volleyball right now. That and hip hop dance is all she wants to do. She said maybe gymnastics too. But my Ava wants to try everything! She Wants to do gymnastics, soccer, tee-ball, etc. You name it she wants to try it. Everything except learning how to ride a bike. Ugh. We can't go on family bike rides because she refuses to learn how. I don't get it. Maybe on day I suppose. Brooklyn is doing great in school. We are not so sure how she got so smart but I love that she loves to learn. Ava loves to learn too but on her own time.

For our family cruise this year we went to the southern Caribbean. Last year we took the girls and it was fun but not worth the money. They were so tired all the time and Avas skin is so sensitive that she would break out in a rash from the sunscreen we used and she hated being sandy all day... on and on. SO we had my Mom fly out and be with them for the week. I know it was a "family cruise" but sometimes you just have to leave the kiddies behind. We promised them that we will take them next year. So we flew to San Juan, Puerto Rico and left from there. First stop: St. Thomas(well we actually ferry over to St. Johns)

Second stop: Barbados!

We did a catamaran excursion with Cool Runnings here a few years ago and loved it so much we did it again! We went snorkeling at a shipwreck, then swam with sea turtles and stingrays, then headed to a beach for the rest of the day. I loved, loved, loved this excursion. The employees are always so friendly. They serve you drinks, lunch, and snacks the whole time and even dance with ya! It;s so laid back every where we went.

Third stop: St. Lucia

Here we did the Treetop Canopy Adventure zipline. You go on 12 different ziplines through the St. Lucian jungle. It was absolutely amazing. Such a rush! We promised Brooklyn we would take her to do it next time. She was pretty upset she did'nt get to go. When we were finished there we decided to go finish the day out on a beach.

Fourth stop: St. Kitts

Not my favorite island but seeing all the monkeys in the wild there was great! I have always had a love for little monkeys. Growing up I said I would always have one as a pet when I got older. Braydon, Brad, Brooks, and Greg decided to scour the island till they found the only boogie board for sale on the island. $15...not a bad deal! Well they were basically warned to not go to that particular beach because the tide is so strong. Needless to say that just made them more excited to go. They had a blast! And we were all greatful we left St. Kitts with our whole party.

Fifth stop: St. Maartin(Anguilla)

We have never been to St. Maartin before but me being a watcher of "The Bachelor" watched Brad jump from a cliff in Anguilla and just thought that beach they were at was SWEET!So Brayd decided to do some homework and found out that there is a ferry that goes from St. Maartin over to Anguilla. Jackpot! We were able to find the exact cove he was at. It wasnt the easiest to get down to but it was SO worth it. Pictures just dont do this place (or any place we went) any justice. It is truely breathtaking. It was worth the trip over there. We cliff jumped and just played on the beach all day.

Back to Puerto Rico where we first docked. We were able to stay the night there which was really fun. We got to walk around and visit shops and historical sights.

This was probably the best cruise yet! Lots of fun stuff everyday. Whoever want to come with us next year you are welcome to come along!!!!

My little dancers! They recently had their end-of-year recitals and they were so dang cute! They want to sign up for gymnastics this fall....I am not sure if dancing is going to be their passion but they sure were good at it!

So Brooklyn lost both of her front teeth back in March! She was scared to death to pull them out or even to wiggle them so she gave me permission to pull them out while she slept! She is so proud to have those teeth gone. Since she is quit petite for her age people are constantly surprised to see her two front teeth gone. Maybe its early, I am not sure but all I know is she is SO DANG CUTE!

CRUISIN' THE CARRIBEAN

For spring break we decided to go on a cruise! 18 people total. We figured the girls are now old enough to bring...wrong. The first day they said they were ready to go home. They didnt really care for the fact that we could'nt go right back to our room to wash sand off and they hated us putting sunscreen on them every hour-especially Ava. She had a reaction to the sunscreen we brought and she had little bumps all over her little body. By the end of the trip they said they had fun and want to go again with us next year. Hmmm, maybe when they are teenagers we will give it another try.

Great weather thankfully and beautiful beaches! Not my favorite one we have been on but still had a great time! We are planning another one next year during spring break so if ANYONE wants to plan on coming along you are more than welcome to! The more the merrier!

My little Brooklyn is a Daisy in Girl Scouts of America! I can't believe my daughter is the one selling girl scout cookies now. I always remember as a teenager being so excited to see girl scouts out and about doing service projects and thinking how if I had a daughter that she would totally be a girl scout! The time has come! Brooklyn absolutely loves it! Ava loves being her little helper too! I LOVE MY GIRLS!!!

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

What a fun filled month on December! Ava Finally decided to get her ears pierced again. Once we got there and the lady was trying to mark her ears with a pen she started freaking out and saying "no!" but she finally warmed up to it and did it! We had to tell her they were putting sticker earrings on and it worked. The things we do! She forgave us quickly so no worries.

I was slacking on getting Christmas cards made and the day I wanted to get the pics taken the girls and Braydon all pitched a fit so I said "FORGET IT!" The next day my friend Brooke Ulrich gave me a Christmas card that was taken in her front yard with her adorable huge ornaments. I absolutely loved it! I was explaining to her my situation and she offered to take a few snapshots for us and help me do the card! SWEET! I totally took her up on the offer and went home and laid down the law and told everyone we are getting pictures taken and you put on what I tell you and your gonna like it and I dont' want to hear one word out of anyone! They listened this time and everything went smoothly. Brooke being the amazing woman she is had us come down not even an hour after getting home from Vegas, she offered to watch her friends children so they were all there on top of her own kids and as she was taking our pic. another person showes up to look at some fabric! I would have lost it but she does so well with her busy life! THANKS BROOKE FOR MAKING TIME FOR US!! :) So The Christmas card that was sent out and the picture of our family at the top was all done and decorated by her! I owe her!

Brooklyn and Ava both had dance recitals. Brooklyn just takes hip-hop and Ava does it all. They love it. It has really helped Brooklyn break out of her fear of performing in front of people.

Brooklyn turned 6 this month!! It is so hard to believe that six years ago I was in the hospital holding her in my arms! man I love that girl! I swear since she turned six she has decided she wants to act like she is twelve. I am constantly having to tell her she is not the Mom. And the funny thing is that Ava goes with it most the time. They are so dang cute together...as long as they aren't fighting!

My mom came to visit us this past week for 8 days. I was able to have Thanksgiving with her which I haven't done in soooo long! It was fun to have her here to help me shop for Christmas and to make the traditional goodies we always had growing up. I loved that the girls and I were able to wear the aprons she got me for my birthday! They are Paula Deens! (Look her up NOW if you don't know who I am talking about). Mine said "Put some south in your mouth" and my girls' aprons said "southern cook in training". What great gifts! We fixed pinto beans and cornbread one night for dinner and Brooklyn calls that meal "North Carolina food". I also love the fact that BOTH my girls love cornbread in milk, and it ain't that sweet cornbread...its the good ol'southern cornbread! My mouth is watering right now for a big cup of it!

Halloween Spooktacular!

I love love love halloween! We went to our wards trunk-or-treat on thursday, then our friends had a Halloween party on Friday, then "real" Halloween on Saturday! Loved it! oh, and so did the girls! :)

So we took a trip to California in October and went to Sea World again since it was free. We spent a day at Coronado Beach(which I think is the best beach there). We went to the BYU game. We also decided to stay an extra day and go to Monday Night Football!! Broncos vs. Chargers. I was glad we were able to see them be 6-0...especially since it has been down hill ever since...but i won't go there. Braydons parents took the girls home with them so we were able to go! I am so thankful for them and all they do for us!!!

Brooklyns 1st day of school

Brooklyn went to her first day of Kindergarten today...I didn't think I would be emotional about it because it is only two extra days compared to preschool and only 15 min. longer but once I dropped her off at the "big kid school" I must asmit I struggled a little. My girls are growing up so fast and I dont want to miss a moment of it!

NC Summer Trip

This is a pic of me and my BFF Crystal. I got to hang out with her some! We also had a family reunion! This was a good trip. We got to spend time hangin out with family and the girls got to play with cousins. We also got to attend the annual Farmers Day in downtown China Grove! I have not been to that in YEARS.

This is a t the Lazy Five Ranch. The girls love going here. You get to feed the animals from your car and there is a place you can walk around and see the animals.

We decided last minute to go to Cali for the 4th. We put a crazy offer in on priceline and it got accepted so off we went! I cant remember the name of the place where we went to see the fireworks but it was by far the best show I had seen to date! It was freaky how close we were!

Miss Melanie's Swim Camp!

Well Brooklyn refused to do swim lessons so we found a "swim camp" that was totally diffrent than swim lessons (wink!) It actually was different. Melanie does an amazing job with the kids! My girls loved her and wanted to go again when lesson were finished. Brooklyn graduated to a level 3 and Ava moved up to a level 2! I was so proud of them!

We had a great time dyeing easter eggs with friends and family! The girls got more gifts than candy from the easter bunny bacause the easter bunny got tired of Braydon and I eating all of their candy! I am still jealous I dont get to do an easter egg hunt anymore but its worth it seeing how much Brooklyn and Ava enjoy it!

Well, now that I have internet and my camera I can update the people who care about my wonderful life! Yes, I know its been forever since I have updated. I am going to try and start from where I left off. Back in March (I think) we took the girls to Sea World. For some reason they picked that over Disney World but whatever... They had a really great time! Brooklyn loves animals. She said she wants to go there again. Ava said she chooses Disneyland! We went to the beach for a day and played in the sand. Braydon was the only one who got in the water. We went to the place where the seals are and there was a squirrel hangin out so we decided to feed it some of our walnuts. He totally came up to us and started eating it from our hand! The girls got a kick out of it...we all did!

Because I live such a fulfilling life(which I do- I am a Mother)! It feels like life is still pretty consistent with the past few months. Not much has changed. Brooklyn will be graduating from pre-school next month! She is getting too big and too smart for her own good! Ava goes on Fridays to school with her and looks forward to it each week. I am trying to decide if I want to put her in pre-school for the next two years or not. Maybe I will just do some work with her at home this coming year... not sure though. I am also trying to decide if I want to start school this summer or waite till next summer when she will be starting pre-school in the fall.

We took a trip to Sea World two weeks ago and the girls loved it! Me... not so much. I am more of a Disneyland girl but there were some interesting things to see and do. The girls loved it and thats all that matters!

I also have been cooking/baking lately. I have gone through alot of my recipes and my magazines(Southern Living has the best ones) looking for recipes to try or ones that I haven't made in awhile. I made my Red Velvet cake which was a hit! And I made some Cream Cheese Banana Nut Bread. One of the loaves was topped with a peanut butter struessel that was sooo tasty! Next on my list is Pecan Joy Balls(don't worry Nichole and Kristy, I am going to rename them something else)! Then I have the recipe for Bojangle's biscuits and Hardee's biscuits I am going to try. I hope its really the recipe they use! I will let ya know how all of those turn out!

I figured it would be best if I separate things by each month that they happened in since I haven't updated these past few months. I am officially done with Christmas shopping! Actually I have been done. I have made my Christmas goodies that I make every year, all I have left to make now is my homemade red velvet cake. Yum! Yum!

Jenny has taken more pictures for me last week! The girls were completely out of control, they would NOT listen to me, barely listening to Jenny! I felt so sorry for her! The Christmas picture posted up top is one she took. She has a few posted on her blog but I will post more soon!

We just got back from up north. Braydons cousin Brooke got married and we got caught in the snow storm driving up but thankfully we got there safely. Late, but safe! She was absolutely beautiful! Everything was beautiful and well put together!

Brooklyns birthday is tomorrow so she gets to pick how the day is going to go. The plan is to eat lunch at Pizza Factory then come back and have a Hannah Montana birthday party! I will let you know how it goes.

November... The girls and I went back to N.C. to visit for 9 days. Braydon flew out a few days after us. We just hung out with family and ate some good food! I went to the pro-basketball game in Charlotte that weekend. I actually ran into a guy I went to high school with who I havent seen since 10th grade as we were leaving the game! I cant believe I recognized him, and he recognized me! He went from being a good student and athlete to being a drug dealer on the streets of Charlotte. It's amazing how life can change!

In October me, Lindsey, Kaci, and Emily went to see Chelsea Handler, the comedian in Las Vegas and stayed the night at the Palms. (Thanks Shaun & Lindsey!)We went to eat at the Cheesecake Factory (one of my favorite places to eat there) and of course It was hard for us to find a parking spot but Lindsey knows a "secret place" to park where you walk in right by the restaurant! She deserved that parking spot anyway... she was pregnant! After the show we ate again and then waited on the palm reader to get back so Kaci can get her palm read. She was taking forever so poor Lindsey called it a night and went upstairs. We waited down there for like 45 more minutes and finally she went in to get it read. It seriously took like 10 minutes, if that, to get her palm read and it was all so vague! I guess that is the kinda stuff you do for fun 'round there if your not a partier! I wanted to do it after her but after I saw what she did I figured I would just save my money! We then went back up to our room, ordered 3 different desserts from room service, had girl talk then crashed! Anyways, Chelsea was a riot, a little too vulgar at times but overall we all had fun!

The 23rd was my 25th birthday! What the heck?! I do not want to be 25......geez

So back in September (I cant believe I havent blogged since then!) Ava had her 3rd birthday on the 13th. We had her party at Jumpin' Jacks! Everyone had a blast! My friend Britney has a daughter Kamryn whose birthday was about the same time as Ava's so we decided to have the party together. Everything went perfectly! Later in the month I had a friend Jenny Wilson who loves taking pictures and wants the experience asked me if she can take pictures of my girls! Of course I said yes! She only charges $75.00 and she gives you the CD with all the pictures on it and another CD of some of the pictures she has edited for you! If you want her number let me know! Seriously... I am addicted to cookie dough! I will get out the sugars, flour, vanilla, salt, etc. and make the flippin' cookie dough! After I eat it I feel absolutely terrible. This happens typically twice a week. For the past two months it has been better, but this past week I have done it three times and I just bought cookie dough- it was buy four packs for ten dollars. How can I say no to that when I am in the middle of a binge? Somebody help me please!

Cute shirt huh? Well, when I was up in Idaho a few weeks ago Mandee(my cousin-in-law)had on the cutest shirt and I thought it looked so good on her! She said she got it at Buckle. Well, I was just at our local Buckle in St. George not too long ago and I sure did not see it so while in Idaho I looked at the Buckle there and no sign of the shirt there. When I got back to St. George I looked again. It wasnt at our Buckle. When I went to California I looked there- you guessed it...they didnt have it either so I decided to look online, on ebay, and no sign of the flippin' shirt anywhere! I had an obseesion with this shirt- I couldnt forget about it. Well, the other day I get a package from Savanah(Mandees sister) and behold...IT WAS THE SHIRT!!! Savanah found the shirt in the mall somewhere up north and she and Mandee went in together and got it for me! How freakin sweet are they! Could anyone ask for better cousin-in-laws? I think not. THANKS LADIES!!

Well, it has been awhile sence I blogged last. I will post some pics. in the next few days. Since July Brooklyn has started preschool, dance, and gymnastics. Ava is doing gymnastics and now she says she is ready to do dance again since she can be in the same class as Brooklyn. I am excited for them to be together!

We just took a weekend trip to California for Labor Day. We decided Friday morning that we were headin' out at 3:00pm! So I had a busy day of getting everything ready! We got there Friday night and got a good nights' rest then got up and drove to the beach for a few hours on Saturday. The water on the west coast in so much colder than the east coast. Braydon tried to tackle a few waves- the waves won everytime.... He was definently feeling the beating Sunday morning! So Sunday we got the car ready and headed for Disneyland! After parking we were making sure we had everything and I double checked the camcorder and it was broken!!! I was soooo mad! Needless to say I just took lots of snapshots. The girls and I had so much fun! They got to meet their favorite princess- Jasmine and Snow White! Poor Ava was struggling by the end of the day to make it through without falling asleep. Brooklyn started complaining about her legs hurting her. After 8 hours there we were all done! For dinner I was wanting Chick-fil-a so bad! It is one of my favorite places to eat. So we pull up to the drive-through and it is freakin' closed! I forgot that they are always closed on Sunday! I made sure we went there for breakfast the next morning, though! After breakfast we headed home!

First off, does anyone know how I can get some more fonts to choose from? Anyway, July 4th went pretty well. We all went to the park where fun stuff was suppose to be going on...needless to say we lasted there for about twenty minutes then decided we should just go buy our own fireworks and have our own celebration! The girls loved having there own personal firework show. By the time it got dark we went up to Foremaster Ridge- along with half of St. George, and watched the city fireworks. Ava was more worried and freaking out about the stink bug that kept crawling our way. oh, the poor thing burned her finger on a sparkler earlier so we gave her a cup of ice water to stick her finger in and she carried it around with her the rest of night. She even fell asleep with her finger in it! And that is how we spent our holiday!

I am so glad Nichole invites me places! Last Saturday(I think) she finally got me to go to Signature Suppers with her and make some meals for the fam! Don't ya love the aprons?! I tried taking it home but they caught me sneaking out the door! maybe next time...

Friends and Family

It is amazing how quickly life can change. (No I am not preggo and I am not dying. :) This journey called life is an amazing ride. It just wouldn't feel right if I didn't express my love for my Heavenly Father right now. I know he is real and he will be here for us as long as we call on him. Not only is he my Heavenly Father, he is my friend.

*Come unto me, all ye that labour
and are heavy laden,
and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me;
for I am meek and lowly in heart:
and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

I am so thankful to have wonderful friends and family in my life to have fun with, laugh with, cry with- you name it and they are there. I am so greatful for the wonderful friends God sends my way. They truly are a blessing in my life.

Summertime!

Well, now it is summertime and it is hot! The girls had a dance recital the end of May! They were so cute and had so much fun! I was able to take a weekend trip to Cali with my girlfriend Nichole Riley and had a blast! I got to go to downtown Disney-my girls were so jealous!
The girls and I were able to take a two week trip the first of June to North Carolina to visit my family. We had a great time! Brooklyn and Ava even got to suck the juice out of honeysuckles! Oh, what good memories to have! We were able to spend alot of time with cousins and aunts and grandparents which was so fun and much needed! Brooklyn unfortunately is just like me at her age and got eaten by mosquitoes! We counted over 30 bites all over her little body! Ava didn't even get one! The day before our scheduled leave, Brooklyn had a breakdown and said she is done being in North Carolina and wants to go home and see her Daddy, toys, and friends. Perfect timing! All in all we had a wonderful trip.

This whole blog thing is kinda complicated. Hopefully I can figure it out since I cant get my friend lyndsey to come help me out! :) I cant believe it is already April. I didnt play any jokes on Braydon like I always plan. But maybe next year! So I cut my hair off many inches the very end of December but it grew too fast and so I cut it even shorter this time and it looks alot better! (I am sure you all care!) We are trying to plan our family vacation this year. I want Disneyland and Braydon wants Hawaii. He said this shouldnt be a hard decision, but it is! St. George is great! Braydon is still killing those bugs! I am getting a little baby hungry but we are going to put that off for a little while longer till we build! Girls are doing great! they have bbeen doing dance and gymnastics. Luckily they are done with gymnastics so it is down to one. Brooklyn goes to preschool two days a week and she loves it! (A great dvd if your child is having a hard time with recognizing letters and letter sounds is "the Letter Factory" by Leapfrog!) That is all I can think of at the moment.
